Half awak and half asleep in the water

Sometimes I really think I am the luckiest girl in the world.
Last Thursday when attending some friend's group show in Chelsea, the Yossi Milo Gallery right next door had an opening for a beautiful photo show by Japanese artist Asako Narahashi. This is her first solo show in the US. The photos has a very calming, yet melancholy sentiments. The perspective of landscapes cropped at the the water's edge, giving it a drowning feeling, like the last image you see before you go under...
I almost pulled out my check book. But on second thought, I am announcing that my birthday is in January, just putting it out there.

tonight you belong to me

So I just finish watching The Jerk.
Here is one of the most beautiful scene I know.
One day, this will be me on the beach.

Necessity

"you're the cream in my coffee
you're the salt in my stew
you will always be my necessity,
i am lost without you."

wonderment of olufar elisssen

not often am i taken by many art i see these days. but i was pretty impressed my the simple genius of olufar eliasson's recent retrospective showing at MOMA in NY. a provocative approach to the to raise awareness to how a simple skew of perspective in our surrondings can bring wonder to the everyday mundane.
